The history of filter coffee can be traced back to the 16th century. During that time, coffee was not a common beverage choice. It is believed that Baba Budan, a Sufi, brought coffee beans to India.

 Drinking unfiltered coffee daily can raise cholesterol levels. However, drinking filtered coffee every day will not harm you or raise your LDL cholesterol.

 Indian drip filters can be cleaned with a simple soap wash, and most of them are also dishwasher safe.
